Mrs. Johnson
Dear Parents, My name is Erica Johnson, and I will be teaching your three- or four-year-old this year. I was raised in the Kerkhoven area and graduated from KMS in 1995. I attended Ridgewater College and then went on to the University of Minnesota, Morris, where I graduated with a BA degree in elementary education and a teaching license for grades 1 - 6. During the 1999-2000 school year, I taught ECFE/School Readiness and was a substitute teacher at KMS, and the following year I taught fourth grade at the Community Christian School in Willmar. I then stayed at home with my three children until 2008 when I began teaching preschool at KMS again. While teaching preschool, I completed online classes through Southwest Minnesota State University and received an early childhood education teaching license in 2011, which now makes me licensed to teach children from birth - 6th grade. I am so excited to be back for another year, and I am thrilled that your child will be in my class! We are going to have a great year together! Throughout the year we will learn about colors, shapes, letter names & sounds, rhyming, alliteration, picture naming, and more through the use of songs, crafts, books, finger plays, games, and other activities. We will develop gross and fine motor skills, and work to improve social skills as well. |
